Doll Sofa

I decided to make a seating furniture again. If you don’t want to read my idiot talk, move to the bottom of this screen.

This time I need a cute and decorative sofa. I searched the stores, I was able to find some such products. But I didn’t clicking on the cart. It’s uneconomical for me to buy something every time when I try to make images.

The decorative sofa I think of has a rococo-style cabriole legs. Or baroque-style’s. Baroque designs usually have complicated engraves. I think the rococo designs are simple somehow than baroque’s. I searched the internet for rococo furnitures. But I’m not going to recreate any existing furnitures. Because I’m not so interested in traditional designs. I just want a sofa for dolls.

I read on Wikipedia that the “cabriole” is meaning to leap like a goat. But in my country it is called cat legs (or paws?). I’m not sure why they decided to call them cat legs. There were smaller tools with such legs from before such designed furnitures were imported into my country. Probably people of that era wouldn’t think it was a deer leg because it’s small.

First, let me promote my new product.

These are doll shoes. I’m trying to make G8F characters dolls. I don’t make characters. What I make is such fancy clothes and props. So I made this sofa to make promo images. But, this time any furnitures weren’t needed for the images.

Now, this is the new sofa.

I think it will be better that its frame has gorgeous engravings. But I don’t want to spend too much time making this. Because I probably wouldn’t use it many times. I don’t use contents I purchased very much, and I don’t use much of the created contents by myself. Because I hardly make renders as my hobby.

This work wasn’t easy after all because I was careless. I had to modify this again and again. It’s because I didn’t make any drawing. Sometimes I assemble polygons directly in my 3D program, like scribbling. I was thinking it would be easy to make such a prop.

The wrong leg gave me an unstable impression. The wavy legs must face diagonally outwards, not front. Though I don’t really know how durable such legs are, but this sofa looks stable due to the remodeled legs. I am impressed the ability of people who design furnitures.

I’m not going to make anything more in this series now, so don’t expect it. To tell the truth, I was trying to make a side table. But its shape got awkward. After all, I have to design properly before I make something.
